Implantology is highly evolved specialty which aims to restore missing teeth & parts of anatomical structures of maxillofacial areas e.g. missing ear, missing nose etc. by utilizing endosteal implant. An implant is a screw shape structure made out of inert metal which is surgically placed within bone. Following union of implant with the bone, the implant is exposed in oral cavity & prosthetic superstructure is fabricated. This scientifically stablished technique can be employed to successfully replace single tooth or multiple teeth or entire teeth of upper and lower jaw thereby eliminating disadvantages of the removable prosthesis. The present day implant can be placed in patient with comorbidities like Diabetes Mellitus, Post Irradiations, Post Chemotherapy etc.
